01 · DENTAL IMPLANTS

Replace one tooth, several teeth or a complete arch.

Dental implants are titanium fixtures placed into the jawbone to support a crown, bridge or full-arch restoration. They provide a fixed alternative to removable dentures and can be used for anything from a single missing tooth to an All-on-Four or All-on-Six reconstruction.

What treatment can involve

  1. 1
    Assessment & imaging

Bone, bite and the final restoration are planned before surgery.

  2. 2
    Implant placement & healing

The implant integrates with the jawbone before the final restorative stage.

  3. 3
    Exposure & restoration

The implant is uncovered and the custom crown or bridge is produced and fitted.

How long does implant treatment take?

Conventional cases include a healing period before the final crown or bridge. Smile Savers commonly allows around three months for lower-jaw implants and four months for upper-jaw implants, although grafting or other clinical factors can alter the timetable.

Can implants replace several teeth?

Yes. A small number of implants can support an implant bridge, and full-arch solutions can support a complete fixed row of teeth. The number and position of implants depends on anatomy and the final restoration.

02 · DENTAL CROWNS & BRIDGES

Rebuild teeth that are damaged, heavily restored or aesthetically compromised.

A crown is a custom-made cover fitted over a prepared natural tooth or attached to an implant. Crowns can reinforce weakened teeth, restore shape and bite, and improve appearance. Several units can be joined to form a bridge.

Common crown choices

Porcelain fused to metal

A durable metal substructure covered with tooth-coloured porcelain. Often used where strength and value are priorities.

Zirconium / all ceramic

Metal-free options designed for a highly natural appearance, particularly useful where aesthetics are important.

When is a crown preferable to a filling?

A crown may be recommended when too much tooth structure has been lost for a filling to provide reliable strength, or when a tooth needs protection after extensive treatment such as root canal therapy.

Does every missing tooth need its own implant?

No. Where several adjacent teeth are missing, a bridge may be supported by fewer implants than the number of teeth being replaced. The design depends on the span, bite and bone available.

03 · PORCELAIN VENEERS

Change the visible shape, colour and proportions of front teeth.

Veneers are thin, custom-made porcelain shells bonded to the front surface of teeth. They can be used for isolated cosmetic correction or as part of a wider smile makeover when teeth are discoloured, chipped, worn, uneven or mildly misaligned.

Typical veneer journey

  1. 1
    Smile assessment

Bite, tooth position, colour and the changes you want are discussed first.

  2. 2
    Preparation & impressions

A small amount of enamel may need to be removed before impressions are sent to the laboratory.

  3. 3
    Try-in & bonding

The final veneers are checked for fit and colour before being bonded to the teeth.

Are veneers the same as crowns?

No. A veneer mainly covers the front surface of a tooth, whereas a crown surrounds much more of the tooth. Which is appropriate depends on the amount of healthy tooth structure and the treatment goal.

Can veneers straighten teeth?

They can improve the appearance of mildly uneven teeth, but they are not a substitute for orthodontics where significant tooth movement or bite correction is required.

04 · GUM CONTOURING

Refine an uneven or low gum line as part of a cosmetic plan.

Gum contouring reshapes the visible gum line. It is often combined with crowns or veneers when the gum level makes teeth look short or asymmetrical and a more balanced frame is needed for the final smile.

Where it fits into treatment

As a standalone refinement

Where the teeth are otherwise healthy but the gum line is visually uneven.

Before crowns or veneers

Reshaping may be completed first so the gums can heal before final restorative work is designed and fitted.

Is gum contouring the same as a gum graft?

No. Contouring reshapes existing gum tissue. A gum graft adds tissue to areas of recession; Smile Savers does not offer periodontal gum grafting.

Will I need healing time before crowns?

Sometimes. When contouring is part of a larger restorative makeover, the dentist may allow the gum line to settle before the final crowns or veneers are produced.

05 · BONE GRAFTING & SINUS LIFTS

Create enough bone to place implants in a safer, more useful position.

After a tooth has been missing for some time, the jawbone can shrink. Bone grafting can rebuild or augment deficient areas so an implant has adequate support. In the back of the upper jaw, a sinus-lift procedure may be used when vertical bone height is limited.

Low bone volumeSinus liftImplant planningStaged grafting

Two common approaches

Sinus augmentation

Used in the upper back jaw to increase the amount of bone available beneath the sinus.

Bone augmentation / grafting

Bone material is added to a deficient area. Depending on the case, grafting may be completed with implant placement or as a separate first stage.

Does needing a graft mean I cannot have implants?

No. Low bone can often be managed with grafting, sinus-lift procedures or a different implant plan. Imaging and surgical assessment determine which option is appropriate.

How much does bone grafting cost?

The Budapest price list starts bone grafting from £110. London lists bone-graft material at £250 per ampoule. These are not directly comparable complete-procedure prices, because the amount and technique depend on the individual case.

06 · GUM DISEASE & MAINTENANCE

Protect the gums and bone that support the teeth you want to keep.

Gum disease begins with inflammation around the teeth. Early gingivitis can often improve with effective cleaning and professional care. More advanced periodontitis involves loss of supporting tissue and bone and needs ongoing management to control progression and protect remaining teeth.

Bleeding gumsPlaque & tartarLoose teethLong-term maintenance

What good periodontal care focuses on

Reduce inflammation

Professional cleaning and improved home care help remove the plaque and deposits that drive inflammation.

Maintain stability

Advanced gum disease cannot simply be “undone”; regular monitoring and maintenance are important to reduce further deterioration.

Can gingivitis be reversed?

Early gingivitis can often resolve when plaque is effectively removed and oral hygiene improves. Persistent bleeding, swelling or tenderness should be assessed rather than ignored.

Can periodontitis be cured?

Advanced periodontitis has already caused supporting tissue or bone loss. Treatment aims to control infection and inflammation, stabilise the condition and reduce further damage, with ongoing maintenance playing an important role.

HOW THE SMILE SAVERS ROUTE WORKS

Start in London. Choose where to be treated.

1

Consultation & treatment plan

Meet a dentist, discuss your priorities and receive a fully costed plan before deciding how to proceed.

2

London or Budapest

Many treatments can be carried out in London. Budapest is particularly useful for more extensive treatment and laboratory-intensive smile makeovers.

3

Aftercare & maintenance

Follow-up and annual checks can be arranged through the London clinic, with Budapest available when laboratory or surgical treatment is required.

NOT SURE WHICH TREATMENT YOU NEED?

That is exactly what the consultation is for.

You do not need to diagnose yourself or choose a package before you arrive. Bring your questions and your priorities; the dentist will assess the clinical situation and explain the realistic options.
