The surgeon recommends an approach based on the available bone, bite and restorative requirements. Six implants are not automatically necessary or suitable for everyone.

Some full-arch patients can receive a fixed, long-term temporary restoration during the first Budapest visit. This depends on the treatment plan and whether the implants have enough stability for immediate loading.

These are temporary teeth, not the final porcelain or zirconia restoration. The final teeth are made after healing. When immediate fixed teeth are not suitable, the team will discuss another temporary option; they cannot be guaranteed before assessment.

Zirconia, often described as “zirconium” on treatment plans, is one of the restoration materials we discuss where appropriate. The choice depends on appearance, bite, available space, the design and budget.

For a visible single front implant beside natural teeth, a zirconium abutment and crown may be recommended for aesthetics. They can cost more than other options. The dentist will explain the choice for your particular case.

Temporary crowns or bridges are normally used to protect prepared teeth while the laboratory makes the planned restoration. Depending on the treatment, this may begin with a chairside temporary and be followed by a laboratory-made long-term temporary.

The Budapest laboratory works with the clinical team during the restorative stage. Appointments may include preparation or impressions, try-ins, shade selection and final fitting.

Tell the dentist about your preferences before the final stages and raise concerns at the try-in. Final fitting is carried out with your approval; the exact visits and any adjustments depend on your plan. Allow the full working days requested rather than treating the stay as one appointment.

A screw-retained restoration can be accessed through a small opening, allowing the dentist to remove it for inspection or maintenance where needed. A cover filling closes the access opening.

The design is chosen for clinical reasons. The cover filling can wear or discolour and may need replacement. Do not use household glue or try to permanently cement a loose restoration yourself; contact the clinic for assessment.

This depends on the treatment. A staged single-implant plan commonly involves two Budapest visits: around two working days for the first visit and five working days for the final restorative visit, separated by healing.
