Centrally located on Andrassy avenue and offering a mix of Spanish, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Hungarian food

GoaA restaurant whose decor hints at Asia but whose food is influenced by a much wider sphere. Our group of five managed to tick off 6 countries: Spanish, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and a damn good Hungarian. All Goa’s dishes are authentically prepared, beautifully presented and the menu has an excellent smattering of vegetarian offerings enough to keep even the strictest of abstainers happy (we had three in our group this time round and all were pleased with their food). Goa’s staff are reasonably friendly, efficient and knowledgeable and will happily recommend a suitable wine for your meal and with such a range of international dishes on offer this can be by the glass. Of course this comes at a price and we thought the wine menu was the biggest culprit. Look out for lunch-time specials which could help bring down the price a bit. All in all, and located as it is on the beautiful Andrássy útca, a stones throw from the Basilica and 3 blocks from the Opera House, a great choice. Reservations recommended but not always essential.
