The dental implants have been in place for 4 months and are uncovered with the abutements in place. The upper teeth are the temporary crowns that were fitted whilst the dental implants fully integrated with the bone. This was made possible by using Branemark dental implants.
Thanks to modern science and research, we now know that you do not need 14 dental implants to replace a top or bottom jaw – but a smaller number of pegs with a bridge between them. If the bone is strong you might only need six – eight dental implants to support a whole jaw and sometimes you can get away with as few as four in the lower jaw, however when the bone is damaged and weakened by gum disease 8 – 10 dental implants are required to support a fixed restoration.
Here you can see both upper and lower crowns finished at the laboratory. Note the use of pink porcelain to disguise the gum line and is used to prevent overly elongated teeth.
The restoration in place. Ceramic fused to gold was used to provide an extremely pleasing aesthetic look.
The dental implant supported bridges are held in by screws and can be removed and corrected easily if the restoration gets damaged.
The final restoration. Our client selected an A1 colour from the Vita colour guide, which provided a very natural result.
The client was able to use her new teeth immediatley – the function was the same if not stronger than normal teeth.
After suffering from gum disease at the age of 45 our client lost all her teeth and she was not ready to wear dentures for the rest of her life. She decided to travel abroad for a full mouth rehabilitation which included dental implants and bridges. Her dental treatment in Budapest required 2 visits, 4 months apart.
